Everyone's welcome at the Palace

We inspire and entertain through inventive, ambitious, and inclusive drama, new plays, musicals, dance, and family shows; free outdoor festivals; diverse stand-up; creative community plays and projects; and a much-loved traditional pantomime.

See yourself on our stage

We reflect our diverse communities, and fully represent women, both onstage and behind the scenes.

We make the future

We celebrate and develop creativity and skill in our community and our young people.

See it here first

We’re proud that our locally produced shows and home-grown talent have won awards, been seen on BBC iPlayer, and toured to theatres all over the UK, and abroad.

Watford Palace Theatre is a registered charity. We have been at the heart of the Watford community since 1908.

The theatre has given the local community entertainment and inspiration for 113 years; championing  new work on-stage and in the streets of Watford.

“When it was was first built in 1908, the Palace was a modest music-hall, evolving through a period as a lively repertory theatre until today, the Palace is a producing house with a national reputation.”

– Ian Scleater, ‘The Story of the Palace Theatre Watford’

Watford Palace Theatre Makes the Future

For over a century Watford Palace has created great theatre, comedy and events. Our guests are at the heart of our work, but what really makes us tick are our people. To our peers we’re a top-class regional curator of innovative performance and community engagement – but we know that the true magic behind the curtain is the heart and vision of our staff. If you want to be part of an organisation that values its employees and freelancers, read on.

We cast actors, and employ technicians and creatives, but we offer a range of roles, including administrators, marketers, and drama facilitators – all playing a part in making our theatre look and feel amazing. We also have training and young talent opportunities, so please take a look below for all our current opportunities.
