A Century of Songs
With the Watford Palace Theatre Community Choir
As we celebrate 10 years of making music on the stage of the Palace Theatre, come and join us for a feast of pure nostalgia as we present 100 years of music, led by our Musical Director, David Halstead.
There’ll be something for everyone – songs from each and every decade – including show tunes of the 20s and 30s, jazz standards of the 40s, chart-toppers of the 50s and 60s, disco hits of the 70s and 80s, and even pop favourites from the 90s, the ‘naughties’, and the ‘teenies’ (the 2010s).
The choir was formed in March 2009. We welcome singers of all ages and abilities – all we ask is that our members enjoy singing. We love to go out and perform at community events in and around Watford. In previous years, the choir also sang at concerts in France and South Wales. This summer we are off to Brighton to sing at two events and to have some fun on the beach!
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm – 9.30pm during term times at the Palace Theatre, so come and join us!
The theatre is fully accessible, with a lift up to the second floor where choir rehearsals usually take place and with an accessible toilet nearby.
