Palace Youth Theatre

PYT 16-19's Summer Term 2016

Palace Youth Theatre (PYT) Ages 16-19 years, runs on Tuesday evenings from 7.30-9.30pm in the Studio at Watford Palace Theatre.

If you have a strong interest in drama and theatre making, this is the group for you. Working with a group of like minded people, across the year participants can expect to develop acting, devising and performance skills but also find out about design, directing, production and producing, as well as going on theatre trips in and beyond Watford.

Each project will explore a different theme or discipline, often informed by participant interests. Previously with youth theatre groups we have explored ensemble skills, writing and performing 60 second plays, working with a writer to develop new short plays for performance by young people. The group works towards performance outcomes for family and friends at the end of the project. Performances can take place in any location around the theatre building and beyond. We encourage participants to broaden their knowledge and will support this by organising theatre trips to Watford Palace Theatre and beyond, as well as recommending other opportunities such as auditions for Herts County Youth Theatre, Imagine Watford or volunteering for young production team.

No experience is required and there are no auditions. Participants are welcome to take part in a trial session at the start of term to see whether they would like to take part.
