Short Stories with The Asian Writer

Rifco Theatre Company and Watford Palace Theatre Present

The Asian Writer is the voice of British Asian writing and is for readers and writers interested in South Asian literature. Since 2012, the magazine has celebrated new writing talent through its annual short story competition.

Hosted by its editor, Farhana Shaikh this event will introduce past finalists of the prize and their exceptional writing. Writers will read from their winning stories and discuss their creative process. Featuring writers Meera Betab, Mona Dash, Farhana Khalique, Shibani Lal and Jocelyn Watson.

Following this, you will be invited to take part in a creative writing workshop and begin writing your own short story through a series of writing prompts and games.

Duration: 1 hour reading, 1 hour workshop (optional)
