Primary workshops

Drama, Literacy and Cross Curricular workshops

Watford Palace Theatre's Primary Programme has workshops that can be tailor-made for your school, either working with the children or as an INSET with your teachers. See below for examples of some of our workshops, which are available throughout the year. To find out more contact us by email at participation@watfordpalacetheatre.co.ukor give us a call on 01923 810307.

INSET
We can offer INSET for teachers on a range of topics including directing, rehearsal techniques and devising, as well as offering technical workshops with members of our Production team. Our workshops provide teachers with a range of activities that can be applied within the classroom.

ARTS WEEKS
We regularly participate in Primary School Arts Weeks providing a dramatic input into the week. From a general Join in Drama session to story creation, puppetry or masks, our workshops will excite the imagination of your students. We can also help plan the delivery of your Arts Week too.

CREATIVE CURRICULUM
We can use drama to explore most topics taught across the curriculum. From the Spanish Armada to the world of the Ocean, our topic based workshops provide a fun and interactive way to explore specific subjects in the classroom.

PANTOMIME WORKSHOPS
Our panto workshops introduce students to the traditions of pantomime. They will boo and hiss, create the characters and retell the stories. Be prepared for some noise and a lot of fun.
