Community Choir

A fun and friendly weekly choir open to all adults and abilities.

Watford Palace Theatre runs a weekly community choir, which is open to all, with no audition or experience required. The group focuses on enjoyment of singing, aiming to learn and improve along the way. The choir meets every Wednesday evening from 7.30-9.30pm, in term time.

You are welcome to try out a session for free at the start of term. Just drop an email to participation to let them know you are coming along.

The group sings a mixture of a repertoire which they have some input into, ranging from show tunes to seasonal favourites and classic pop songs. They are lead by Steve Merrony, who writes the arrangements and also accompanies the group on Piano.

This term, the choir are singing a medley from Oliver! The Musical as a part of their Christmas Concert on Wednesday the 6th December.

Sheet music is provided for those who can read it and for those who would like to give it a go. But there is absolutely no pressure to use sheet music, we want all our singers to feel comfortable.

We do hope you will join us for a sing and a cup of tea.

Our first term date for Autumn 2017 is the 20th September, 7.30pm. Email us on or call 01923 810307 to arrange your free trial session. After that, a term is just £60 for all 10 sessions. You can pay either at box office, or bring your money to a session and we'll do the rest.

This summer our Choir were invited to sing in France- you can read all about it in the Watford Observer here:
