What is Participation?
The Participation Team at Watford Palace theatre delivers all of the community and education work of the theatre. We work with young people, teachers, schools, adults, community groups and artists. On any given day you may find us testing new drama games, surrounded by props or out and about in the community.

Watford Palace Theatre was one of the first theatres to develop Theatre in Education productions that toured to schools in the local area and was one of the frontrunners in developing an education offer alongside its work on the stage. In recent years Participation at WPT has grown beyond just work with schools and now delivers a far reaching range of activities that includes Hertfordshire County Youth Theatre, Palace Youth Theatre, and the Satellite Youth Theatres, Community Celebrations, Community Choir and Theatre tours.
In addition to this regular delivery, the Participation team regularly works on bespoke participatory projects with artists and arts organisations, for work on the stage and Imagine Watford.
Much of our work is generously supported by funders and donations. If you would like to find out how you can support our work please click here.
