Looking for thoughtful conversation, meaningful connection and the occasional laugh? Join us for ‘Thought Experiments in Pubs’, a chance to meet new people and discuss interesting questions at the 1908 Cabaret, Watford Palace Theatre.

Everyone is welcome. The more perspectives, the richer the conversation. No experience required.

The theme for September is TRUTH & LIES. Is honesty always the best policy? Who decides what is true? How can you tell if someone is lying? Join us for an evening of TRUTH & LIES.

We meet in beautiful venues across Hertfordshire, using hypothetical scenarios or ‘thought experiments’ as springboards for discussion. Discussions are in small groups of four with an opportunity to change groups between each thought experiment, so you’ll get the chance to connect to quite a few different people at each event. The vibe is calm and inquisitive, so leave your boxing gloves at home!

At the end of the session, we’ll have a short get together as a whole group to vote on a few questions, so that you can get a sense of everyone’s views. After the event people often stay to chat with their fellow thinkers.

Thought Experiments in Pubs – Hertfordshire is hosted by Sharda Dean. Sharda was born in the Caribbean and lives in Potters Bar. She researches every theme and draws inspiration for her thought experiments from books, films, friends, life experience and Radio 4. She has three sons and three degrees in economics.
