Students from the Jazz, Commercial and Popular Music Departments at the Purcell School accompany UK Soul and Jazz star Natalie Williams, to present an exciting evening of Jazz and Soul music. Expect familiar Jazz standards and Soul classics mixed in with Natalie’s own original songs.

Natalie Williams has 9 critically acclaimed albums under her belt and a dedicated following that extends throughout the world.

Undisputed darling of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Natalie is a veteran of the British music sphere. Since beginning her “Soul Family Sunday” residency during the re-opening of the Club in 2007, the vocalist and songwriter has collaborated with artists such as Goldi, Incognito and Jacob Collier. She has toured extensively with the Ronnie Scott’s house band and the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, playing the Blue Note Caribbean Jazz Cruise alongside Gregory Porter, Diane Reeves, Pat Metheny and Marcus Miller, Birdland Jazz Club in NYC; Rochester Jazz Festival, as well as an annual residency at the Zermatt Unplugged Festival in Switzerland where she has performed with Paolo Nutini, Gabrielle, Lisa Stansfield, Emeli Sande and Jessie J.

For over 15 years, the Purcell School Jazz Department has been proudly training young jazz musicians for a career in music, with notable alumni such as Grammy Award winner Jacob Collier, BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Alexandra Ridout, Jas Kayser, Kit Downes and Seth Tackaberry. In 2022 the School opened a brand new Commercial and Popular Music department. Under the tutelage of saxophonist and Head of Jazz, Commercial and Popular Music Simon Allen and a faculty of top musicians and educators, students at the Purcell School develop their instrumental and compositional skills to the highest level, gaining places at major Conservatoires before going on to successful performing careers.
