Gary Townsend Vila is Deputy Chief Executive of Creative Skillset, the National training and skills body which supports the future growth and productivity of the UK’s Creative Industries.

Prior to this he held senior marketing and public relations roles in the arts, further education, local authority and tourism sectors. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and a senior executive with extensive experience in business strategy and operations across the public and non-for-profit sectors. Gary also has particular interest and experience in diversity and inclusion.

Gary has a degree in Drama, Television & Theatre Studies, and trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music Drama. He is also a Trustee and Board Member of The Patient’s Association, the national campaigning voice for change which represents patient’s interests in the health and social care sector.
