Palace Youth Theatre Casual Youth Theatre Assistant (PYT 14-19s)

Youth Theatre Assistant role

he main purpose of the Youth Theatre Assistant role is to support the Youth Theatre Leader in delivering weekly sessions for the Palace Youth Theatre. We usually run 10-week terms, though the current Autumn term has been reduced to 6 weeks due to the recent theatre closure and furloughing of staff. We also sometimes run projects over longer periods and/or for intensive weeks. This role requires regular liaison with Youth Theatre Leader/Associate Director outside of sessions for planning and arriving in good time before the session starts with the understanding that you may need to stay after the session ends.

Each term’s sessions are usually planned around presenting an informal sharing of work to parents/carers at the end of the term and the Assistant helps the Youth Theatre Leader/Associate Director in getting the young people ready for this, through practical work and supporting safe and high quality session delivery.

Outside of the sessions, the Assistant may be required to provide additional administration support in light week to week administration of the groups to include data entry and maintaining accurate records and registers of attendance.
